BLOG: We first caught wind of Eric Power when he released his short paper-cut animation Mario On Paper. Besides being a visually bada** reinterpretation of the Mario franchise, the film brings a whole new level of understanding to the stouter of the Mario Bros. Tears are cried, blood is spilled, anthropomorphic cannibalism occurs. It goes deep.
Power’s latest short Path of Blood, which is being turned into a feature length animation, is subtitled Demon at the Crossroad of Destiny. The film has all the sublime goofiness that such a header implies. At once a beautiful paper-cut stop-motion and also a ridiculously gory samurai battle, it promises to make an engaging and feature length that is also good for some laughs.
